Babysitting Training Course - Grades 6-9   

This course will teach you diapering, swaddling, age appropriate games for children and safety. You will learn about possible situations that can arise while babysitting and how to handle them. At the end of the course, you will receive a certificate and be placed on the Suffolk Y JCC's preferred babysitter list.

Digital Rock Star Series - Grades 6 and up   

Launch a Game Development Company - Teaching children about business at a young age is important for the future of business as a whole. When kids are taught the specific lessons of money management, organizational skills as well as programming skills, they cannot only apply their skills towards building a business for themselves, but they can also apply the skills they have learned to their personal lives.

Head Start "Workouts" For Youth   

This is a progressive program for ages 8-18 that teaches young exercisers the proper and safe way to workout. The instructional program includes teaching our future exercisers the importance of and the proper way to:

* Set personal fitness goals
* Create a personal workout program
* Stretch
* Warm up/cool down
* Proper set up and use of al fitness equipment
* Exercises that don't need equipment
* Tracking individual results

Mac (Make A Change) - Grades 7 & 8   

MAC (Make A Change) is a community service and leadership program designed for children in grades 7 and 8. The program requires 18 hours of community service in a variety of settings including the Butler Special Needs Center, Kidsplace, a senior center, The National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame & Museum and more. Volunteers will participate in a fun and social environment, and will be invited to celebrate various Jewish holidays such as Hanukkah, Purim and Passover. Volunteers who complete all of their hours, as well as attend all of the monthly meetings will receive a certificate of completion and a letter of reference from the Program Coordinator.

T.A.S.C. Teen Action Service Corps   

TASC is an award winning Jewish teen leadership program for grades 9–12. The program combines volunteer service with leadership training. Every teenager accepted into the TASC program will receive a volunteer placement for the year. Volunteer placements include Kidsplace after-school program, Emunah, the JCC’s special needs after-school program, gym and theater programs and the Gurwin Geriatric Center. Monthly meeting provide the TASC members with valuable leadership training and an opportunity to talk about Jewish events, multi-cultural issues and celebrate Jewish holidays.

Teen Lounge - Grades 9-12   

The Suffolk Y's Teen Lounge is ready for another great year! Lounge includes open gym time, a drop down big screen TV with cable, ping pong, air hockey, fooseball. TV's for X-Box and Wii and much more are waiting for you! Bring your friends or come down and make new ones. Why go anywhere else?

Tween Lounge - Grades 6 to 8   

Join us once a month on Saturday for gym, Wii, Fooseball, air hockey and great snacks.

Winter Recess - Dec. 26th - Bowling, Gym & Swim   

In the morning we are off to Farmingdale Lanes for a few games of bowling. The fun continues at the JCC with gym activities and swim.

Winter Recess - Dec. 30th - Air Trampoline Sports   

Come and join us for our first trip to Air Trampoline Sports in Ronkonkoma. While there you will bounce on trampolines as you play dodgeball, dunk basketballs or jump into a foam pit. Back to the JCC for gym and swim.

Winter Recess - Jan. 2nd - Laser Kingdom   

In the morning we are going to Laser Kingdom in Farmingdale for two hours of unlimited laser tag excitement. Gym and swim complete the day at the JCC.

The fun begins at the JCC with lounge games and swim. In the afternoon we are off to Island Rock Gym in Plainview. Sneakers and comfy clothes recommended.
